Becoming a "Little"

Big Brothers/Big Sisters provides adult role models to children six (6) - twelve (12) years old from predominantly single parent families. The volunteers initiate consistent contact three to six hours a week, one-to-one with a child for a minimum of one year, providing positive social, recreations, cultural and interpersonal activities.

Little Brother or Sister Eligibility Criteria:

  • Resident of Erie County
  • Between 6-12 years of age at time of inquiry
  • Children residing in one-parent families are primary recipients of the service.
  • Program designed to service vulnerable children and their families in need of social support.
