Events

Family Services of NW PA hosts the following events to promote family interaction. Events are FREE and easily accessible to the community we serve in northwestern Pennsylvania.
Adoption Matching Event

Family Services of NW PA and Catholic Charities host a matching event at the Erie Seawolves baseball game to highlight the many children in Pennsylvania waiting to be adopted. Families that have adopted or are interested in adopting are encouraged to attend. Sponsors help defray the costs so tickets and food are FREE.
Movies At The Arboretum

Family Services and LEAF (Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier) have partnered to host FREE Friday night movies in the summer. The PG rated movies are viewed outdoors and start at dusk.
Movies On The Hill

Family Services of NW PA and CAC (The Crawford County Children’s Advisory Council) have partnered to host a FREE Friday night movie on “The Hill” at Allegheny College in the summer. The PG rated movie is viewed outdoors and starts at dusk.
Prom Project

Donations are accepted from the community for new or gently used prom gowns, jewelry, purses, shoes, tuxedos as well as gift certificates and cash. These donations are then made available to teens (FREE) throughout northwestern Pennsylvania who may not have the resources to attend their proms.
Winterfest At The Arboretum

Family Services and LEAF (Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier) have partnered to host a winter carnival at the Arboretum at West 8th & the Bayfront. Horse drawn carriage rides, interactive ice sculptures, sledding, cross country skiing, snow boarding, winter crafts, music and food are just some of the FREE entertainment provided to help break the winter blues.
Fundraiser

Bowl For Kids' Sake

Big Brothers Big Sisters, an affiliated program of Family Services of NW PA, hosts the agency’s only fundraiser: Bowl For Kids’ Sake. Bowlers are asked to get pledges, and bowling is held two consecutive Friday nights to raise money for the program. All money raised is utilized locally to match children from single parent homes with an adult mentor.
