In early 1991, several area churches entered into a contractual agreement with Family Services to offer a church-based program providing counseling services for individuals, families, and couples experiencing marital difficulties, family concerns, parent- child problems, and individual adjustment problems. The counseling is held in the comfort and privacy of a host church.
Family Life Education programming is offered as requested by each church. The programs available include: Parenting, Marriage Enrichment, Stress Management, and others dependent upon the host church’s needs.
All church members are eligible for services. Many host churches have made their services available to people in the community as well.
Fees are based upon a sliding fee scale negotiated by the individual church and Family Services.
Fee collection and the individual contractual agreements fund the Pastoral Counseling Program.
