Project Connect is a collaborative effort between Family Services and six other homeless providers. A HUD funded project; it provides supportive services for individuals and families involved with the Mercy Center for Women, SafeNet, Erie Dawn, The Refuge, and Safe Horizons.
The services vary according to the family’s needs while in emergency shelter or in transitional housing. Services can include transportation assistance, childcare, assistance in acquiring household goods and clothing, rent/security deposits, debt repair, moving and storage services, drug/alcohol education, and life skills education such as healthy relationships and self esteem classes. Some of these services are provided directly by Family Services and some are contracted services provided by other members of the project.
All of the services are designed to assist the individual or family with attaining and maintaining housing stability.
Any family or individual residing in any of the above named programs is eligible for Project Connect. Willingness to participate is voluntary and acceptance is based on participants completion of the intake format with Family Services staff person.
